An Alternative to Liposuction

For some of us, no matter how much we diet or workout, thanks to good old genetics, we simply can’t shed the weight in those trouble spots. Up until recently, many of us might have decided to simply live with these imperfections because fixing them cosmetically meant invasive procedures that require anesthesia, pain, and extensive downtime.

iLipo is an FDA-approved nonsurgical fat-reduction procedure that uses external lasers to reduce fat below the skin. Unlike surgical liposuction, the laser energy of iLipo doesn’t remove fat cells, and it doesn’t destroy them, like many other nonsurgical body-contouring treatments: it shrinks the fat cells by purging their triglycerides, which your body then metabolizes and eliminates. This treatment is primarily used to help take inches off the waist, hips, and thighs as well as the neck or arms. However, it is important to note that it’s not a weight-loss solution.

What should you expect during an i-Lipo treatment?

Your treatment will be done in the privacy of one of our treatment rooms, while you lie comfortably on the table. During the procedure, laser pads will be placed on each treatment area. You may feel a gentle warming sensation as the laser releases unwanted fat. After each session, you will need to engage in light exercise to accelerate the removal of released fat from the area. The entire treatment experience takes approximately one hour, depending on the size of the targeted area.  After the session, you’ll need to exercise or sit in a sauna for 30 minutes, to boost circulation and help metabolize the freed fatty acids and glycerol.

What results should I expect?

Typically a 2-12 cm loss in abdomen circumference can be achieved with one treatment. iLipo results can endure for a very long time if you continue to eat well and exercise often following your appointment. Results may be seen immediately and will continue to improve as you complete more treatments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many iLipo treatments will I need?

iLipo treatments are structured into courses of eight. Your number of iLipo treatments, however, is determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals. We suggest two iLipo treatments a week over four weeks to complete a full course of iLipo treatments.

How much does One treatment cost?

Treatments range from $200-$650 each. At Rejuvalase we charge $200 per treatment however, we offer discounted packages when you purchase the recommended 8 treatments.

Why do I have to workout after iLipo treatment?

Working out after your iLipo treatment gives the body away to metabolize and excrete the fat that is broken down. If you don’t do a workout after your iLipo session, you run the risk of the released fat being absorbed by other cells since your lymphatic system is not actively draining it.

Do I have to workout after iLipo treatment?

Once the fat cells are broken down after iLipo treatments, the contents of the fat cells need a way to exit the body. If they do not exit the body within a few hours, they get reabsorbed by other fat cells. A brief workout immediately after an iLipo treatment ensures that the fat is excreted via the lymphatic system.

How soon can I expect results?

Often iLipo results can be seen immediately and improve with every treatment. Over the course of eight iLipo sessions, you can achieve dramatic reshaping of the body and reduction in cellulite.

How long does one treatment take?

The treatment takes just 20 minutes followed by 10-15 minutes of infrared laser vacuum massage. The length of time for your post-treatment exercise to “burn off” the free fatty acids is determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals from your iLipo results.

Is it safe?

Yes. Independent clinical studies have shown iLipo to be completely safe with no side effects. The iLipo laser simply triggers a natural reaction of fat cell release. The process does not cause any damage and cells remain intact, just smaller, giving immediate results. The iLipo Ultra is FDA cleared.

How far apart should each treatment be?

Eight treatment sessions are recommended, two per week for four weeks.

How long will results last?

ILipo results are long-term, provided your calorie intake and eating plan are stable, and you engage in regular exercise. Further iLipo treatments can be performed to correct diet indulgence or target another area of the body.

Does it hurt?

The most you will feel is a warming sensation.

Where does the fat go?

Fat content is transported around the body to tissues where it will be “burned off” during a period of post-treatment exercise.

Is iLipo suitable for everyone?

ILlipo can be used on both men and women and can treat most areas of the body except the female breast. As with any treatment, people with certain medical conditions should not use iLipo. We will go through a full medical questionnaire and consultation prior to treatment to confirm suitability. ILipo is not recommended for patients that are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of malignancy, or have diabetes.

How does it work?

The iLipo emits low levels of laser energy, which creates a chemical signal in the fat cells, breaking down the stored triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol and releasing them though channels in the cell membranes. The fatty acids and glycerol are then transported around the body to the tissues that will use them during metabolism to create energy. This process of fatty acid release is a natural response of the body when the body needs to used stored energy reserves, thus iLipo is not creating any unnatural reaction in the body nor does it affect or damage any surrounding structures such as skin, blood vessels, and peripheral nerves. A period of exercise post treatment will ensure the complete metabolism and thus elimination from the body of the freed fatty acids.
