This week on The Tox Drop, Maggie is getting the drop on former NVLET Student, Sheriz Chisley, better known as Makeup By Sheriz! Get to know more about Sheriz as she opens up about her story of becoming a professional makeup artist, serving bridal looks in Virginia and the DC area! 

From growing up in a small town as the daughter of teen parents to becoming the first in her family to earn a four-year degree, Sheriz shares what it was like leaving home for a big-city college, starting out pre-med, and realizing the traditional path she chose didn’t actually fit the life she wanted. Maggie and Sheriz talk about how a creative passion she once saw as “just for fun” slowly revealed itself as a viable, life-giving career.

Sheriz opens up about betting on herself, starting from scratch as a makeup artist, building confidence through education and mentorship, and learning how to show up consistently — even during slow seasons. She also shares powerful advice she’s received along the way about separating emotion from business, staying visible online, and leading with intention as she dreams of building a bridal beauty team of her own.
